Faridabad: Home Minister Amit Shah, who arrived in Faridabad, Haryana, amid the investigation into the Delhi bomb blasts, has declared that the culprits of the Delhi blasts will be found even from the underworld. Amit Shah was in Faridabad to chair the 32nd meeting of the Northern Zonal Council.
“We will find the culprits even from the underworld”: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah chaired the 32nd meeting of the Northern Zonal Council in Faridabad, Haryana today. A two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the Delhi bombings and the Nowgam police station explosion in Jammu and Kashmir. The Union Home Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, eradicating terrorism is our shared commitment. He stated that the Modi government will not spare any terrorist and will find the culprits of the Delhi bombings even from the underworld. They will then be brought before the country’s judicial system and given the harshest punishment.
CMs’ Meeting with Amit Shah: The meeting with Amit Shah was attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, and Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta, along with senior ministers from states and union territories. The Union Home Secretary, Chief Secretaries/Advisors of member states, and senior officials from state governments and central ministries and departments were also present. “Positive Results of Implementation of New Laws”: Referring to the implementation of three new criminal laws, the Union Home Minister said that the implementation of these new laws has yielded significant positive results. The conviction rate under the new laws has increased by approximately 25 to 40 percent, and the perpetrators have received timely punishment. He urged state governments to make greater efforts to ensure effective implementation of these laws. The Home Minister also urged all state governments to upgrade technology, from forensic science to online prison connectivity.
“Speedy Punishment”: He stated that speedy punishment in cases of crimes against women and children is essential, and that the country needs to be freed from problems like malnutrition. Shah emphasized the need for immediate investigation of sexual assault and rape cases against women and children under the POCSO Act, saying that no healthy society can tolerate such heinous crimes. He stated that the safety of women and children is our top priority. To achieve this, the Home Minister emphasized the need to increase the number of Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs). Praising Rajasthan: Amit Shah commended Rajasthan for its contribution to the millet promotion campaign, saying that all states should increase the production and use of millets. He urged state governments to include millets as part of the monthly 5 kg free grain scheme for the poor. Shah said that this will increase millet production, and the new generation will develop the habit of eating millets, and people’s health will also improve.
Emphasis on eradicating poverty: He said that GDP alone does not indicate a country’s prosperity; prosperity is considered only when every person rises above the poverty line. He said that the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, has taken 57 initiatives to strengthen the cooperative sector across the country. These include the computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), the establishment of three new national cooperative societies, and the establishment of Tribhuvan Cooperative University.
“Work with the spirit of one nation”: The Home Minister requested the leadership of all the states in North India to work in coordination with each other to manage water resources and address water problems, keeping in mind the spirit of one nation and the interests of all the states.
