Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (retd) was also present. Addressing the convocation, the President said that education is the foundation of any nation’s development, and therefore, its objective should not only be to develop students’ intellect and skills, but also to strengthen their moral strength and character.
The President said that education makes us self-reliant, teaches us to be humble and contribute to the development of society and the country. He urged students to dedicate their education to serving the underprivileged and nation-building. He said that this is the true religion, which will bring them true happiness and satisfaction. The Indian economy is one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world. The government is implementing several policy initiatives to ensure continued progress. These initiatives are creating numerous opportunities for the youth. Higher education institutions should encourage young people to take advantage of these opportunities.
