The Poultry Development Policy 2025 has been approved in the state. The government has issued the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) along with the order. According to the policy, a 40% subsidy will be provided for poultry farming in mountainous areas and 30% in plain areas.
According to the government order of the Poultry Development Policy 2025, this policy will remain in effect until December 31, 2030, or until a new policy is implemented. The state government reserves the right to extend or shorten the policy period if necessary. This policy will be applicable throughout Uttarakhand and will provide guidelines for future plans and actions. The policy provides for the establishment of two types of poultry farms.
For the establishment of a commercial layer farm, a maximum subsidy of โน4.8 million will be provided for 15,000 poultry in mountainous areas and โน5.4 million for 30,000 poultry in plain areas. For the establishment of a broiler parent farm, a subsidy of Rs. 5.6 million will be provided for five thousand poultry birds in the hilly areas and Rs. 6.3 million for ten thousand poultry birds in the plains. According to the Minister, a subsidy of Rs. 10 will also be provided for feed transportation in the hilly areas.
Selection will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to the earliest applications and those with complete documentation. Only those applicants who meet all the eligibility criteria set out in the Uttarakhand Poultry Development Policy 2025 will be eligible for selection. This policy will reduce dependence on Uttar Pradesh and Punjab for eggs and chicken. Production in Uttarakhand will increase, providing employment to local people.
100% subsidy under the Women’s Goat Rearing Scheme
The government is providing a 100% subsidy under the Women’s Goat Rearing Scheme. Single women, widows, destitute, and abandoned women will be eligible.
