This is the second time in the history of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly that the President will address a special session. President Draupadi Murmu will address the special session on November 3rd at 11 a.m. in the special session being held to commemorate the silver jubilee of the state’s establishment. Previously, in May 2015, former President Pranab Mukherjee had addressed the special session.
The Assembly Secretariat is gearing up for preparations for the special session, scheduled for November 3rd and 4th. President Draupadi Murmu is arriving on a three-day visit to Uttarakhand. On November 2nd, she will attend a program in Haridwar. On November 3rd, the President will deliver the President’s address to the special session in the Dehradun Legislative Assembly. Afterward, the President will depart for Nainital. Previously, in May 2015, former President Pranab Mukherjee had addressed a special session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
The special session to mark the silver jubilee will be historic. The ruling and opposition parties will discuss the state’s journey and the future roadmap. The Assembly Secretariat is also making preparations to make the session memorable.
Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said that preparations for the special session are being finalized. The President’s address will be delivered on the first day of the session. Additionally, the House will discuss issues related to the state’s development. No legislative work will be conducted during this session.
