Students at Doon Medical College created a ruckus in the hostel around 2 a.m. by playing loud music. When some students protested, a heated argument ensued. Police arrived at the scene to calm the situation and also summoned them to the police station on Sunday morning and issued a stern warning.
According to reports, students in the Doon Medical College hostel were partying and playing loud music late into the night. Students from the other side insisted they stop, claiming they were nearing their exams. This sparked a dispute between the two groups. Medical college management officials were informed of the incident and dispatched several staff to the scene.
Seeing the dispute escalate, the police were informed. City police arrived at the scene and reprimanded the students. They were also summoned to the police station the next day. A video of the incident is also going viral, showing students dancing semi-nude. Amar Ujala does not confirm the viral video. To investigate the incident, Medical College Principal Dr. Geeta Jain has formed a five-member committee headed by Medical Superintendent in-charge Dr. Nandan Singh Bisht.
Students were summoned to the police station and given strict instructions.
City Police Inspector Pradeep Pant stated that all students involved in the fight were summoned to the police station and released after being given strict instructions. They were also instructed not to repeat such incidents. The Police Inspector stated that such unruly incidents will not be tolerated. The Medical College management has also been instructed to ensure that students remain disciplined.
A five-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident. Furthermore, outsiders had entered the premises during the incident. Therefore, security personnel have also been asked for answers. The matter will be investigated and action will be taken against those involved
