Despite clear weather in Mussoorie city, a landslide occurred near the Fur Club Tehri bypass on Friday. This caused a power line to collapse. Nearly half a kilometer of power lines were damaged, disrupting power supply to 1,000 consumers. Water lines were also damaged.
Due to the landslide, more than 1,000 consumers in the Suwakholi and Buranshkhanda areas were forced to live in darkness. Energy Corporation teams are working to repair the lines. Paritibba Enclave residents Sawan Kanojia and Ashish Kanojia said that the landslide, without any rain, left the entire area covered in dust. The destruction of both power and water lines has created a water crisis in the area.
