New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of “vote theft.” In this regard, BJP leader Anurag Thakur said that making baseless and false allegations and being reprimanded by the court has become a habit for Rahul Gandhi.
He said that sometimes questioning EVMs and sometimes questioning India’s democracy with the help of toolkits has become a habit. He asked which party benefited from postponing elections for a month after Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination. The Congress party had appointed Rama Devi and several other Election Commissioners.
“He has made the politics of allegations his ornament.”
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Thakur said, “A leader who loses election after election and is repeatedly rejected by the public, under whose leadership the Congress party has lost nearly 90 elections, his frustration and despair are constantly increasing, and Rahul Gandhi has made the politics of allegations his ornament. When asked to substantiate the allegations he makes, he turns away and runs away. When asked to provide an affidavit, he backs down.”
He further said, “Making baseless allegations has become his habit. Making false and unfounded allegations has become Rahul’s habit, be it Rafale or ‘Chowkidar Chor’. He repeatedly makes false claims and then apologizes.”
Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi
A BJP leader took a dig at the Congress leader’s press conference this morning, saying, “Rahul Gandhi was about to drop a hydrogen bomb in today’s press conference, but he had to make do with a sparkler, which went off. The Election Commission has stated that no member of the public can delete any vote, and a vote cannot be deleted without giving the affected person a chance to be heard.”
This comes hours after Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission of India, alleging widespread voter deletions in states using software-based fraud.
Gandhi claimed that opposition voters were unfairly targeted in this campaign and accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of protecting those he called “destroyers of democracy.” Meanwhile, the Election Commission dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s allegations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar as false and baseless.
