Itanagar/Agartala: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura next week i.e. on September 22. The official said that during his one-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi will launch several projects. He will lay the foundation stone of the 1,830 km long Frontier Highway project and two hydropower projects. He will also launch the second phase of the Vibrant Village Program (VVP) from Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar. PM Modi may address a public meeting here.
According to officials, Prime Minister Modi will also virtually inaugurate an integrated convention center in Tawang.
According to officials, the proposed Frontier Highway project will run from Bomdila in West Kameng district to Vijaynagar in Changlang district, parallel to the McMahon Line. The official said that this ambitious highway will boost national security and greatly facilitate border connectivity. He said that Prime Minister Modi will also virtually lay the foundation stone of 186 MW Tato-I Hydroelectric Project and 240 MW Heo Hydroelectric Project on Yarjep River in Shi Yomi district.
After the completion of the second phase of the Vibrant Village Program, 122 border villages will get road connectivity, 4G telecom network and on-grid electrification twelve months a year. Of these 122 villages, 67 are located on the India-Myanmar border and 55 on the India-Bhutan border adjoining Arunachal Pradesh. The Home Ministry had sanctioned Rs 2,205 crore for VVP.
Programme of PM Modi’s Tripura visit
Prime Minister Modi will go to Tripura from Arunachal Pradesh on September 22. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha told the media that Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped Tripura Sundari temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, in Udaipur in South Tripura on September 22. CM Saha said that PM Modi will reach Agartala on the afternoon of September 22 and then go to Udaipur, the Gomati district headquarters, to inaugurate the redeveloped Tripura Sundari temple, 65 km south of Agartala.
Manik Saha said that PM Modi will perform puja after inaugurating the redeveloped Kali temple. After this he will return to Agartala and then leave for Delhi. He said that as per the program available so far, PM Modi will not address any public meeting. He said, “I had already invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate the redeveloped temple.”
The tourism department official said that the 524-year-old Tripura Sundari temple has been redeveloped at a cost of more than Rs 52 crore under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Revival and Spiritual Heritage Promotion Drive) scheme of the Union Tourism Ministry. Tripura government has also contributed Rs 7 crore in this project.
