In the Vishnulok Colony (Tapovan Road) area under Dehradun’s Raipur police station, a plumber brutally murdered 80-year-old Ramesh Kapoor, his 75-year-old wife Rajni Kapoor, and a neighbor’s domestic help, Tiliya Devi (48)—who had intervened—by attacking them with a screwdriver following a dispute over money. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and, with the help of locals, detained and subsequently arrested the accused.
According to the police, the arrested accused, Rajkumar (originally from Bijnor and currently residing in Indiresh Nagar), had been doing plumbing work for the elderly couple for the past two years. He had been called for work that day as well. After completing the job, a dispute arose regarding payment, leading him to launch a fatal attack on the couple with a screwdriver. He also attacked the domestic help, who had arrived after hearing the commotion. All three were declared dead upon being taken to the hospital. The police have registered a murder case and recovered the murder weapon—a screwdriver—as well as a gold chain.
