While inaugurating the state-level traders’ conference in Haldwani, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described traders as the backbone of the state’s economy. He stated that the government is fully committed to upholding the dignity and security of traders and safeguarding their interests.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister made eight major announcements for the benefit of the trading community:
1. Relief for disaster-affected traders in accordance with regulations.
2. Reconstitution of ‘Udyog Mitra Samitis’ (Industry Friend Committees) at the state and district levels.
3. Extensive publicity regarding GST accident insurance.
4. A single-window system for the registration of tourism-related businesses.
5. Expansion of homestay facilities.
6. Development of parking facilities along the Char Dham Yatra routes.
7. Priority for the construction of roads and drains on routes connecting to markets.
8. Extension of Welfare Board scheme benefits to registered workers of business establishments.
The CM noted that over 206 services across 26 departments are available online. Additionally, investment is being accelerated through the startup policy, a โน200 crore venture fund, and the establishment of industrial parks in hilly regions. The event also featured the release of a souvenir and the honoring of trader representatives.
