A review meeting regarding the progress of 25 district-level schemes and programs, as well as revenue collection, was held on Friday at the Rishiparna Auditorium in the Collectorate, chaired by District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan.
Detailed discussions took place during the meeting concerning eco-tourism, the homestay policy, sewage treatment plants (STPs), and plastic waste management. To prevent waste from entering rivers, the DM directed the installation of ‘trash screens’ on drains and culverts; this initiative will first be launched as a pilot project on the Rispana River. Additionally, instructions were issued to conduct public awareness campaigns.
Directives were given to identify new parking sites based on the MDDA’s master plan to improve traffic management. Furthermore, while reviewing initiatives such as cattle pounds for stray animals, the ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign, and de-addiction drives, the DM emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination.
