Ganesh Joshi, the Minister in-charge of Agriculture and Rudraprayag district, reviewed the monsoon situation, damage caused by rains, and disaster management preparedness in the district via a virtual meeting from the Circuit House in Dehradun. He directed officials to conduct a detailed, department-wise assessment of the damage caused by the disaster and to prioritize the completion of relief and restoration work in the affected areas.
In view of the anticipated increase in the number of pilgrims for the Kedarnath Yatra, the Minister in-charge instructed officials to ensure robust arrangements along trekking routes and national highways, and to deploy additional machinery and rescue teams at vulnerable locations. He emphasized that the safety of pilgrims is the top priority. Furthermore, directives were issued regarding the management of relief camps, the clearing of drainage systems, maintaining the 24×7 functionality of the District Emergency Operation Centre, and effectively curbing the spread of misleading information.
District Magistrate Vishal Mishra, Additional District Magistrate Shyam Singh Rana, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Rudraprayag) Sohan Singh Saini, and officials from other relevant departments attended the meeting.
