Uttarkashi: Gangotri National Highway is blocked due to a land subsidence near Papadgad (Bhatwadi). The work of making the road smooth by BRO is going on. At the same time, the police has stopped the traffic at a safe place.
Due to heavy rains in the district on Wednesday night, about 20 meters of Gangotri Highway between Chadethi and Papadgad in Bhatwadi got subsidence, due to which the traffic remained closed for about five hours. BRO made the traffic smooth by filling the potholes on the road. On the other hand, due to landslide from the hill near Sanglai, the traffic was closed for about seven hours, causing a jam.
Due to landslide on Gangotri Highway, the highway near Netala, Helgugad and Sanglai remained closed for about five to seven hours. Due to this, the local people along with the passengers had to face a lot of problems. This happened due to the collapse of about 20 meters of Gangotri highway between Chadethi and Papadgad in Bhatwadi. There is a constant danger in the movement of vehicles.
