Srinagar: Leopard terror is prevailing in Srinagar of Pauri district. Within two days, leopards have attacked two different people in Ganga Darshan area, due to which panic has spread in the entire area. People have demanded from the forest department to get rid of the terror of leopard soon.
Both the incidents have happened at the same place and almost at the same time, due to which the local people are very scared. People are hesitating to go towards Ganga Darshan area as soon as evening falls. Especially children, women and elderly are hesitating to go out due to the threat of leopard. Due to which the daily routine of the people has also started getting affected. Last evening at around 6.30 pm, 39-year-old Jaidev Singh Rawat, resident of Anchal Dairy, was taking a walk near Ganga Darshan Band like everyday, during that time a leopard suddenly jumped from the hill above the road and pounced on him.
Jaidev Singh showed courage and fought with the leopard and somehow saved his life with the help of the youth walking nearby. In this attack, he has received deep wounds on his neck, back and chest. He was taken to the sub-district hospital, where his treatment is going on. It is noteworthy that on Wednesday evening also, a leopard had attacked Ufalda resident Robin Kaitura at the same place. Robin Kaitura was on an evening walk, when the leopard ambushed and attacked him. Robin was admitted to Base Hospital Srikot in critical condition. According to doctors, his condition is stable at the moment.
