BJP State Spokesperson Honey Pathak has launched a scathing counter-attack against the Congress party’s remarks regarding the state cabinet meeting held in the border districts. He stated that border regions are not sites for political tourism but are the bedrock of national security and the socio-economic strengthening of Uttarakhand. The Dhami government is positioning these border areas at the forefront of development rather than treating them as the “last mile” or the end of the line.
Honey Pathak highlighted that 51 villages in Uttarakhand are being developed under the Centre’s ₹4,800-crore ‘Vibrant Village Programme,’ with 152 projects already sanctioned. To connect 135 hitherto unconnected villages, 112 roads and 35 bridges have been approved at a cost of ₹2,513.35 crore. Additionally, healthcare facilities are being extended to 108 villages across Pithoragarh, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi under the ‘Swasth Seema Abhiyan’ (Healthy Border Campaign). He questioned the Congress, asking why they object to everything—whether the cabinet meets in Dehradun or holds a session in the border regions. He urged the Congress to provide an account of its own tenure instead of making baseless statements.
