Dehradun’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) issued strict directives to subordinates while reviewing the law and order situation during a crime meeting. He instructed the entire force to remain on high alert in view of the upcoming festivals and elections.
Key Directives:
• Crackdown on Drugs: Orders were issued to open history sheets for drug traffickers, confiscate illegal assets, and fix direct accountability on Station House Officers (SHOs).
• Fire Audit: Instructions were given to conduct immediate fire safety audits of hospitals, hotels, markets, and firecracker warehouses. Establishments found violating regulations will be sealed.
• Security and Traffic: Orders were issued to increase police visibility in crowded areas, intensify evening and night checks, and formulate smooth traffic management plans for the festive season.
• Expedited Action: Directives were issued for the speedy resolution of public grievances and investigations pending for more than six months. Departmental action will be taken against SHOs found negligent.
• Cyber and Social Media: Instructions were given to maintain strict surveillance on misleading news and cybercrimes on social media platforms.
