During his two-day visit to the district, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan conducted a thorough inspection of education, health, and sports facilities in the Baurari area of Tehri. While reviewing the Government Model Primary School, the Dhungidhar Anganwadi Centre, the Shridev Suman Library, and the Baurari Stadium, he issued directives to further improve the existing arrangements.
During the inspection of the Anganwadi Centre, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need for regular monitoring of children’s nutrition, health check-ups, and vaccination. He distributed nutrition kits to pregnant and lactating women and instructed health workers to ensure the delivery of services through door-to-door visits. At the primary school, he commended the quality of the mid-day meal and the standard of education.
During his visit to the Shridev Suman Library, he directed that proper measures be taken to preserve the rare manuscripts and books, which range from the princely era to modern subjects. Additionally, he instructed that the sports facilities currently under construction at the Baurari Stadium be completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high quality.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Chief Secretary planted ‘Jacaranda’ saplings in the Daijar area alongside public representatives and officials. District Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal, along with district-level officials and local public representatives, was present on the occasion.
