The state government has achieved a significant milestone in its efforts to further strengthen and modernize healthcare facilities in Uttarakhand. On Monday, a crucial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in New Delhi between the Government of Uttarakhand and the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Under this agreement, a substantial set of state-of-the-art medical equipment will be provided to Uttarakhand through the Prime Minister’s Fund. This includes 4 MRI machines, 5 digital mammography (DBT) machines, and 75 Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based portable handheld X-ray machines.
This initiative will prove revolutionary, particularly in expanding diagnostic facilities within the state’s government hospitals. AI-enabled portable X-ray machines will allow patients residing in remote and mountainous areas to access accurate, high-quality diagnostic services close to their homes. This will facilitate the timely diagnosis of serious illnesses and accelerate the treatment process.
Several senior officials were present on the occasion, including the State Health Secretary Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Secretary (Government of India) Ms. Aradhana Patnaik, and NHM Uttarakhand Mission Director Shri Sandeep Tiwari. This move will play a pivotal role in digitizing and modernizing the state’s healthcare infrastructure
