On the fourth death anniversary of Ankita Bhandari, the Mahila Congress organized a candle march starting from the Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, in Dehradun and paid tribute by lighting the ‘Lamp of Justice’ (*Nyay ka Deep*). During the event, held under the leadership of State President Jyoti Rautela, a pledge was taken to continue the struggle until full justice is secured for Ankita.
Key issues and demands:
• Unanswered questions: Leaders raised questions regarding why the identity of the ‘VVIP’ has not been made public even after four years and why a bulldozer was used on the resort immediately after the incident.
• Status of the CBI investigation: The public wants to know the current progress of the CBI investigation.
• Safety of daughters: Former Cabinet Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat stated that this fight transcends politics and is about the honor and safety of Uttarakhand’s daughters.
Several Congress office-bearers, including Suryakant Dhasmana, Urmila Thapa, Pratima Singh, and Sujata Paul, were present at the march.
