New Delhi: Continuous rain in Jammu and Kashmir has disrupted life. Heavy waterlogging from mountains to plains, damage to bridges and landslides have badly affected the traffic on the roads. In view of this situation, the Railways has cancelled 23 trains going to and from Katra, Udhampur and Jammu on Tuesday, 26 have been short terminated.
Train operations may remain affected in future as well until the situation becomes normal. In such a situation, passengers may have to face trouble. This rain since Monday night is considered to be the heaviest in the last several decades. Rivers are in spate at many places, bridges have been damaged. Road routes have come to a standstill due to large-scale soil collapse.
Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra stopped
Traffic has had to be stopped on Jammu-Srinagar and Kishtwar-Doda National Highway, while dozens of connecting roads have also been closed. In view of the situation, Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra has also been stopped as a precaution for security reasons.
Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himachal Upadhyay said that due to floods in the Chakki river and heavy soil collapse in the PTK-Kandori rail section, the operation of trains had to be canceled. Due to this, it has been decided to cancel the trains and short terminate some.

22317 (SDAH-JAT) โ Short terminated at Ferozepur/Ambala on 25.08.2025, 22318 (JAT-SDAH) โ This train will start from there from 27.08.2025. Train No. 22941 (INDB-MCTM) โ Short terminated at Firozpur/Ambala on 25.08.2025. Train No. 22942 (MCTM-INDB) โ Will start from there from 27.08.2025. Train No. 16031 (MAS-SVDK) โ Short terminated at Mandi on 24.08.2025 and Train No. 19416 (SVDK-SBIB) โ Short terminated at Chakra Rakhwal on 26.08.2025.
