New Delhi: On 79th Independence Day, PM Narendra Modi addressed the country from the ramparts of the Red Fort. He made many announcements in a long speech of about 103 minutes. In this address, he talked about launching the Sudarshan Chakra. PM Modi said that this is the country’s ambitious Sudarshan Chakra Mission, which aims to strengthen India’s national security in the next ten years. He also laid great emphasis on self-reliance.
Prime Minister Modi said about self-reliance that by 2035, the nation wants to expand, strengthen and modernize its security structure, taking inspiration from Lord Shri Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra. The PM said that in the next ten years, by 2035, I want to expand, strengthen and modernize this national security shield. Taking inspiration from Lord Shri Krishna, we have chosen the path of Sudarshan Chakra.
The nation will launch the Sudarshan Chakra Mission. He said that this entire modern system should be researched, developed and manufactured in India itself, and the talent of our youth should be used for this. This powerful system will not only counter terrorist attacks but will also deal a crushing blow to terrorists. He said that India aims to develop its own defense system like Iron Dome, which has been named Mission Sudarshan Chakra. This system is designed to protect important sites including civilian areas. The Sudarshan Chakra Mission underlines India’s commitment to indigenous innovation and strong defense capabilities.
Earlier, PM Modi hoisted the tricolor on the ramparts of the Red Fort for the 12th consecutive time. On reaching the Red Fort, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was the first to do so, followed by Minister of State Sanjay Seth and the chiefs of the three armies. For the first time, several band performances will be organized across India on the evening of Independence Day 2025 celebrations to promote the spirit of patriotism among the citizens and celebrate the victory of Operation Sindoor. Performances will be given by bands of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, NCC, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, BSF, IDS, RPF and Assam Rifles at over 140 prominent locations across the country.
