Dehradun: Tapkeshwar Shobha Yatra is scheduled to be held from Shivaji Dharamshala on 7th August. In view of this, Doon Police has planned the traffic of Dehradun city. Tapkeshwar Shobha Yatra will start at 11 am and will go from Shivaji Dharamshala to Saharanpur Chowk via Jhanda Bazaar, Paltan Bazaar, Ghantaghar, Bindal, Cantt area, Dakra Bazaar, Garhi Cantt Chowk to Tapkeshwar Bazaar Temple.
When the Shobha Yatra departs from Shivaji Dharamshala, the traffic coming from Niranjanpur Mandi Lalpul and Matawala Bagh Cut towards Saharanpur Chowk will be diverted towards GMS Road. The traffic coming from Prince Chowk Railway Station will be stopped and then let go.
Before the Shobha Yatra reaches Saharanpur Chowk, no vehicle will come towards Saharanpur Chowk from Balliwala and Laxman Chowk. Vehicles will be sent from Balliwala towards Kamala Palace and from Laxman Chowk towards Park Road.
When the procession enters Jhanda Bazar from Saharanpur Chowk, all diversions will be made normal when the traffic at Saharanpur Chowk becomes normal.
When the procession reaches Ghantaghar, the traffic going from Ghantaghar to Chakrata Road will be sent towards Darshanlal Chowk. The traffic coming from Ballupur will be diverted from Ballupur, Kishan Nagar Chowk, Bindal Chowki Cut, Bindal towards Cantt area towards Dilaram Chowk.
When the rear part of the procession passes Bindal Cut, all traffic diversions will be made normal.
When the procession reaches Post Office, the traffic coming from Vatika Tiraha will be sent towards Post Office via Akashganga Tiraha. The traffic going from Post Office to Vatika Tiraha will be stopped and released.
When the rear part of the procession passes Dakra Road, the traffic will be made normal.
SP City Pramod Kumar said that emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass. Also, during the procession, entry of all types of loading vehicles in the city area will be prohibited from 9 am to 8 pm.
