New Delhi: A case of indecent behaviour has come to light in a flight from Mumbai to Kolkata. Actually, a passenger suddenly panicked in the plane. The air hostess tried to calm him down and started taking him to another place. Then a fellow passenger slapped him.
According to a PTI report, a passenger suddenly panicked in an IndiGo Airlines flight from Mumbai to Kolkata on Friday. Then the air hostess helped him. During this, a fellow passenger sitting in the plane slapped him.
According to the report, the incident took place in flight number 6E138 and after the plane landed, the culprit was handed over to the security officials at the Kolkata airport. It is said that the airline also declared the accused a troublemaker. Without giving detailed details, IndiGo said that it is aware of the incident of assault on one of its flights.
The airline said in a post on X, ‘Our crew acted according to the established standard operating procedures. The person concerned was identified as a troublemaker and handed over to security officials on arrival. All appropriate regulatory agencies have been duly informed as per protocol.
The reason for the passenger slapping the fellow passenger was not immediately known. IndiGo also said that such indecent behavior is completely unacceptable. Any action that compromises the safety and dignity of passengers and crew is strongly condemned.
A video clip of the incident shared on social media shows that a passenger sitting on his seat suddenly slapped the panicked passenger. After this he started crying and was taken away from the spot. Apart from this, a cabin crew member is heard telling the passenger sitting on the seat that ‘don’t do this’, while another passenger is heard asking why he slapped and that he has no right to hit anyone.
A passenger is also heard saying that the person who was slapped got a panic attack. It was not immediately known whether the incident occurred while the plane was preparing to take off or in midair. Information about the number of people on board the plane was also not immediately available.
