Hyderabad: Today has become a very special day for crores of farmers in agriculture-based country India. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN), the central government has transferred the amount of the 20th installment to the bank accounts of farmers on 02 August 2025. The objective of this scheme is to provide direct financial assistance to the small and marginal farmers of the country, so that they can meet the cost of farming. According to the latest information, PM Modi has released the 20th installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Saturday.
Transfer of Rs 20,500 crore through DBT
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has today deposited a total amount of about ₹ 20,500 crore in the accounts of 9.7 crore farmers of the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The 20th installment of ₹ 2,000 has been sent to each eligible farmer in their bank account linked to Aadhaar. This scheme is an important step towards making farmers self-reliant.
UP farmers got the biggest benefit
Uttar Pradesh farmers have got the most benefit this time. According to the state government data, an amount of ₹ 4,985.49 crore has been transferred to the accounts of about 2.25 crore farmers. UP has always been a leader in PM Kisan Yojana and the farmers here have been getting continuous financial assistance from this scheme.
6,000 are received every year in three installments
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, eligible farmers are given financial assistance of ₹ 6,000 every year. This assistance is sent in three equal installments (₹ 2,000 every four months) to the accounts of farmers through DBT. This scheme was started in 2019 and so far crores of farmers have benefited from it.
When did the 19th installment come?
The last i.e. 19th installment was released in February 2025, in which about 9 crore farmers got assistance. Since that installment, farmers were waiting for the next i.e. 20th installment, which is now over. Today’s date is no less than a festival for farmers.

If you want to know whether the amount of the 20th installment has come to your account or not, then you can get this information in a very easy way:
First of all go to pmkisan.gov.in website
Click on the “Beneficiary Status” option
Enter registration number, mobile number or Aadhaar number
Fill the captcha and click on “Get Data”
You will see on the screen whether the installment has been sent or is pending
If the amount has not come, then the reason for it is also told on the website – like error in Aadhaar, bank account not linked etc.
