New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday claimed that he has strong evidence that the Election Commission is involved in ‘vote theft’ and it is doing all this for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). At the same time, the Election Commission has denied Rahul Gandhi’s allegations.
Allegation of vote theft on Election Commission
He claimed that the evidence he has is like an ‘atom bomb’, after which the Commission will not find any place to hide. Rahul Gandhi told reporters in the Parliament premises, “I have said that vote theft is taking place. Now we have absolutely strong evidence that the Election Commission is involved in vote theft. I am not speaking lightly, I am speaking with 100 percent evidence.”
Rahul Gandhi has proof like an atom bomb
Rahul Gandhi claimed, “As soon as we release this, the whole country will come to know that the Election Commission is stealing votes and doing this for the BJP.” The former Congress president said, “We had doubts in Madhya Pradesh (Assembly elections), we had doubts in the Lok Sabha elections, voters were added in the subsequent assembly elections… After this we started our investigation. It took six months. What we have found is an atom bomb, when it explodes you will not see the Election Commission anywhere.”
Rahul Gandhi warned
Rahul Gandhi said in a warning tone, “I am saying very seriously that whoever is doing this work in the Election Commission, we will not spare you. You are working against India, this is treason. Whether you have retired or wherever you are, we will find you out.” The former Congress president has been continuously claiming for the last few weeks that his party has conducted a voter list investigation in a Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka in which large-scale irregularities have been found and its details will be made public soon.
The Election Commission (EC) had strongly objected to this claim of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on July 24. The Commission had said that the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha not only made baseless allegations but also tried to “intimidate” a constitutional institution.
Election Commission refuted
The Election Commission said that the allegations being made daily by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha are baseless. The Election Commission said that it has asked all its officials to ignore all such irresponsible statements and work in an impartial and transparent manner.
