Srinagar: Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University Srinagar has once again demonstrated its academic excellence. Students of two major departments of the university, Department of Physical Education and Department of Naturopathy and Yoga, have performed well in the UGC NET and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) examination held this year. 8 students of the Physical Education Department have passed the UGC NET examination.
A total of 8 students from the Physical Education Department of the university have succeeded in the UGC NET examination this year. Out of these, 2 are research scholars (PhD scholars) and 6 students are pass-out students of MPEd (Masters in Physical Education). This time the students of the Naturopathy and Yoga Department have also created history. Along with Physical Education, three students of the Naturopathy and Yoga Department have achieved success in the UGC-NET and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) examination. All these students are currently studying in MA Yogic Science (3rd Semester). The teachers of the department have described it as the result of the students’ continuous sadhana, regular practice and intensive study.
There is an atmosphere of joy in other departments and faculties of the university regarding the success in UGC-NET and JRF examination. Vice Chancellor Prof. Shri Prakash Singh congratulated all the successful students, their families and departments and said that this achievement is a symbol of the academic quality, discipline and dedication of the university. He said that this success will also inspire other students and they will also be able to make their future in the field of higher education and research. The Vice Chancellor also expressed hope that in the coming time, Garhwal University will witness even bigger successes at the national level.
It is worth noting that UGC NET (National Eligibility Test) is an examination conducted by the Government of India for the eligibility of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges and Junior Research Fellowship. This examination is given by lakhs of students across the country and there is a lot of competition. In such a situation, there is an atmosphere of happiness on the success of so many students in a single session of Garhwal University.
