Ramnagar: For the past two days, suspicious drones flying at night in the rural areas of Ramnagar have disturbed the sleep of the people. Especially the people of Nai Basti Puchdi village are scared. The villagers allege that unknown people are doing recce of their houses with drones and vehicles without number plates are also passing through the area at night. In such a situation, the villagers have started monitoring themselves by staying awake at night with sticks in their hands.
Villagers keeping vigil throughout the night: The villagers of Puchdi fear that closed houses and women and children are being reconnoitered through drones. After this, a criminal act can be carried out. In an atmosphere of fear, the villagers are keeping vigil throughout the night, so that nothing untoward happens. They say that they are very apprehensive that someone is keeping an eye on them too.
What did the women say? A woman from Nai Basti Puchdi says that ‘a machine shining brightly is seen in the sky for the last two nights. They are very scared for their children. We are keeping watch ourselves by staying awake.’ Another female villager said that ‘at first it seemed like a normal thing, but this has been seen continuously for two nights, so now we are afraid that some crime may happen.’
The men say that ‘along with the drone, some vehicles without number plates are also passing through the village at night. In such a situation, the matter looks even more suspicious.’ Not only in Puchdi, but people in Pirumdara, Chorpani and Maldhan Chowd areas have also shared similar experiences. The frightened villagers have demanded the police administration to increase night patrolling in the village and keep an eye on suspicious activities.
“After receiving information in this regard, a police team was sent to the spot, but the drone flying could not be confirmed. In view of the seriousness of the matter, night patrolling is being increased. At the same time, the villagers are also demanding the police to investigate the entire matter and keep an eye on suspicious activities. At present, Ramnagar police is investigating the matter and efforts are on to identify the people flying the drone. Although no criminal incident has been confirmed yet, but vigilance is being maintained.
