Uttarkashi: Gangotri Dham’s Tirthpurohits Harshil Mukhaba Jangla motor road construction has been demanding for a long time. For this, the Tirthpurohits warned to boycott the Panchayat elections in Mukhaba village. For this, no one in Mukhaba village even filed nomination for any post including Pradhan in the Panchayat elections. In view of this, on Thursday, the DM reached Mukhaba village with officials. He assured the Tirthpurohits of construction of motor road soon.
Let us tell you that the Tirthpurohits have been demanding the construction of Mukhaba-Jangla motor road for a long time. The Tirthpurohits said that the construction of the road is also important from the point of view of Chardham Yatra. Also, the people of the village will also benefit from the construction of the road. He said that CDS Bipin Rawat had also advocated for road construction in the past. There is more snow on the Gangotri highway in winter. Therefore, the construction of this motor road is also necessary for the movement of the army.
Tirtha priest Dr. Satyendra Semwal said that the festival palanquin of Maa Ganga passes through this footpath. Which has to face a lot of problems. With the construction of the road, the festival palanquin of Maa Ganga can be brought and taken with pomp and show on a large scale. Villagers have registered their protest many times for the construction of this six km long road. Their demands are being ignored. For this, they have boycotted the Panchayat elections in the village.
On Thursday, taking seriously the long-standing road problem of the local residents of the area, District Magistrate Prashant Arya reached Mukhaba village. In this regard, the action taken on the instructions given earlier was reviewed. Also, heard the problem of Ganga Mandir Committee and villagers regarding the said road. He assured to resolve their problem soon. The District Magistrate said that this route is very important not only for the convenience of transportation but also for the religious, cultural, strategic and economic development of the area.
The District Magistrate directed to provide the land of the state government for compensatory plantation (CA) for the construction of Harshil, Mukhwa, Jangla motor road of the district under the state plan. In this regard, the concerned officer was asked to conduct an investigation and identify the land owned by the government. The concerned departments have been instructed to work in coordination to resolve the obstacles coming in the construction of the road as soon as possible and prepare a proposal for the entire project.
