Dehradun:-Danger places in the state will be declared a no-selfie zone. There will be a ban on taking selfies in such places. Safe places wil be marked and developed as selfie zones. Proposals for such selfie sites will be prepared through district administration, local municipal bodies, district panchayats, Kshetra Panchayats, Gram Panchayats and other institutions.
Their operation and maintenance can be entrusted to locals and women’s self-help groups. Car parking, food, toilets and necessary facilities will be developed near such selfie places. Secretary (Disaster Management) Vinod Kumar Suman has sent a letter to the administration, police officials, DMs and police captains regarding detailed guidelines regarding safe selfies.There is a competition over selfies, people are losing their lives
In the letter, he has said that in the current era, the trend of taking selfies and uploading them on social media platforms has increased rapidly. People are losing their lives in the race over the use of smart phones and selfies to become popular on social media. Especially the youth are falling victim to accidents while going to dangerous places and taking selfies without caring about their lives.
For likes, shares and followers, they want to go to dangerous places and take selfies, which is a very worrying trend. In recent years, there have been a number of cases in which people have been involved in accidents while taking selfies in high-altitude and restricted areas such as railway tracks, waterfalls, river ponds, steep hills, dangerous animals, wildlife, tall buildings, bridges, moving vehicles
