In line with the vision of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has decided to accelerate its operations and enhance accountability. A review of pending projects and development works was conducted during a meeting held at the Authority’s auditorium.
• Beautification by October 15: Road repairs, the development of a city park, and the provision of ‘Pink Toilets’ for women will be completed on a priority basis.
• Development modeled on G-20 standards: Major roads, intersections, green spaces, and lighting systems will be modernized and made visually appealing.
• Strict action against illegal construction: Surveillance using drone, GIS, and satellite technology will be employed to curb unauthorized construction.
• Permanent parking solution: A concrete plan will be formulated to address traffic congestion and meet future requirements.
Vice-Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari and Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia clarified that the Authority’s objective extends beyond merely approving building plans; the aim is to ensure the holistic development of cities with a focus on timeliness and transparency
