A meeting of the State-Level Evaluation and Monitoring Committee—presided over by Chief Secretary Mr. Anand Bardhan—was held on Tuesday at the Secretariat to review the ‘Mission Saksham Anganwadi, Poshan, Vatsalya, and Mission Shakti’ initiatives, which are operated under the Department of Women and Child Development.
The Chief Secretary issued directives to ensure the 100% distribution of ‘Take-Home Ration’ (THR) through a Face Recognition System (FRS) and instructed that all necessary arrangements for this purpose be completed expeditiously.
Key Decisions and Directives from the Meeting:
• **Basic Amenities:** The provision of electricity and drinking water facilities shall be mandatorily ensured in all Anganwadi centers across the state. Additional funds will be allocated for this purpose, should the need arise.
• **Building Infrastructure:** Centers currently lacking their own dedicated buildings shall relocate to nearby vacant premises or renovated old Panchayat buildings. Buildings deemed unsafe shall be demolished to pave the way for new construction.
• **Third-Party Audit:** A third-party audit shall be conducted for all government-run and voluntary Child Care Institutions (CCIs) operating under the purview of the Department.
• **Inter-Departmental Coordination:** Meetings of the District-Level Committees shall be convened regularly and on schedule to ensure better coordination and synergy among the various departments.
