During his visit to Nainital on Sunday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami met with local citizens and public representatives at the Circuit House in Haldwani-Kathgodam. During this interaction, he listened to the people’s grievances and issued strict directives to officials to ensure their prompt and satisfactory resolution on the spot.
Primarily, complaints related to drinking water, roads, electricity, and irrigation were raised during the meeting, regarding which the Chief Minister directed that the following measures be taken:
• Drinking Water Supply: In view of the approaching summer season, the Water Corporation was directed to arrange for water tankers as required and to expedite the repair of malfunctioning tube wells and hand pumps.
• Road Improvement: The Public Works Department (PWD) was instructed to prioritize the repair of damaged rural and link roads, ensuring they are made pothole-free.
• Power Supply: The Electricity Department was issued strict directives to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to consumers in accordance with the prescribed schedule.
The Chief Minister issued a stern warning that any form of negligence in matters concerning the public interest would not be tolerated, and that accountability would be fixed upon any official found to be negligent. Present on this occasion were Cabinet Minister Ram Singh Kaira, MLA Sarita Arya, office-bearer Anil Kapoor ‘Dabbu’, the District Magistrate, the Senior Superintendent of Police, along with other departmental officials and local citizens.
