Delhi Assembly Budget Session UPDATE
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta tabled the Economic Survey for the year 2025-26 in the Assembly.
BJP MLA from Shahdara, Sanjay Goyal, raised the issue of private hospitals not providing free treatment to 10% of EWS patients.
Under Rule 280 Special Mention, BJP MLA from Krishna Nagar, Dr. Anil Goyal, raised the issue of increasing the pension of freedom fighters.
BJP MLA from Vishwas Nagar, Om Prakash Sharma, raised the issue of old water pipelines and dirty water supply in his constituency.
On the completion of 8,931 days as head of government, the Delhi Assembly passed a congratulatory motion by voice vote in the absence of the opposition.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 8,931 days in office, said, “Modi taught us how to work for the nation’s benefit 365 days. Through his public policy and foreign policy, Modi pulled the country out of the doldrums and through his governance, he worked to advance India in every direction, from technology to a futuristic approach.”
The House began a discussion on a motion congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing a record-breaking 8,931 days as head of government.
Before the discussion began under Rule 280, Minister Ashish Sood urged the House to pass a motion congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 8,931 days in public life.
As the House opened, Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta congratulated the Indian team on winning the T20 World Cup.
New Delhi: The budget session of the Delhi Assembly has begun. The Rekha government is going to present the budget for the second time. This budget session began with the Kheer Ceremony, the second time the BJP government had started it last year. However, when the central government presents the budget in Parliament, a “Halwa Ceremony” has been held before the presentation.
Chief Minister to present Budget for a Developed Delhi on March 24
Rekha Sarkar will present the Budget for a Developed Delhi in the Assembly on March 24. Thousands of suggestions and expectations for this budget have been received from Delhi residents through WhatsApp and email. For the Delhi Budget, discussions were held with women, academics, businessmen, industrial organizations, farmers, MLAs, MPs, youth, doctors, CAs, municipal councilors and employees, slum dwellers, and influencers.
The budget will prioritize the common people of Delhi, specifically including economic empowerment of women, smooth supply of electricity and water, addressing the problem of rainwaterlogging, controlling air pollution, cleaning the Yamuna River, expanding education, improving healthcare, infrastructure development, and creating employment opportunities. Last year, Rekha Sarkar presented a budget of ₹1 lakh crore.
