New Delhi: Anuj Agnihotri topped the Civil Services Exam 2025 results announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday. Rajeshwari Suve M and Akansh Dhull secured the second and third positions, respectively.
The Commission stated that a total of 958 candidates passed the exam and have been recommended for appointment to various central civil services. The Civil Services Exam is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages – preliminary, main, and interview – to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
The Commission said in a statement that the candidature of 348 recommended candidates has been kept provisional. The central government had announced 1,087 vacancies to be filled through the Civil Services Exam. A “facilitation counter” has been set up near the examination hall on the UPSC campus.
Candidates can obtain any information regarding their exam/recruitment by visiting the examination center in person or calling 23385271 / 23381125 / 23098543 between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM on working days.
A total of 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment in this examination. Of these, 180 will become IAS officers. The category-wise breakdown of the selected candidates by UPSC can be found below:
General: 317
EWS: 104
OBC: 306
SC: 158
ST: 73
These 958 also include 42 candidates from the PwBD (Divyang) category.
The government has announced a total of 1,087 vacancies across various services:

IFS: 55
IPS: 150
Central Services (Group A): 507
Group B Services: 195
The Union Public Service Commission has also prepared a consolidated reserve list of 258 candidates.
The candidature of 348 candidates has been kept provisional for now.
The results of 2 candidates have been withheld.
Candidates’ scores will be available on the UPSC’s official website, upsc.gov.in, within 15 days of the results being declared.

How is the UPSC selection process conducted?
The Civil Services Examination is conducted in three stages. First, there is the Prelims, and successful candidates are called for the Mains. Successful candidates in the Mains then appear for an interview. The final merit list is prepared based on performance in the 1750 marks of the Mains and 275 marks of the interview.
