New Delhi: The Congress party has intensified its attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s alleged links with Jeffrey Epstein. Congress leader Pawan Khera reiterated his demand for Puri’s resignation on Friday, saying the truth comes out in strange ways.

At a press conference here, Khera said that the Epstein Files have been a topic of discussion worldwide in the past few days. Leaders from seven countries have resigned in connection with the case. “Sadly,” Khera said, “the Epstein Files also include the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.”
He said that Hardeep Singh Puri has broken his silence on this matter. Kheda said, “He (Hardeep Singh Puri) has given some interviews in which he has told many lies.” The Congress leader said, “This is the same Hardeep Singh Puri whom Narendra Modi made a minister without even being an MP.”
Kheda, chairman of the Congress’s media and publicity department, questioned what Hardeep Puri was talking about regarding Epstein, a known sex offender and a man who murdered children. He further asked, “Between 2014 and 2016, under whose authority and direction was Hardeep Puri communicating with Epstein?” He asked, “If the government wasn’t using it, then under whose authority was he communicating with Jeffrey Epstein?”
At the press conference, Pawan Khera stated that he was demanding Hardeep Puri’s resignation. “It’s unfortunate that he has to demand his resignation,” Khera said. “Hardeep Singh Puri should resign immediately. If he can’t resign himself, then PM Modi should have asked him to resign.”
The Congress leader said, “Truth has strange ways of coming out… it always happens.” It’s worth noting that earlier in the day, the Congress youth wing, led by its national president, Uday Bhanu Chib, had protested here demanding Puri’s resignation.
Chib said, “Hardeep Puri’s name being linked to infamous sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is a very serious and shameful matter.” If such allegations are leveled against a Union Minister, the nation demands answers. This is not just a political issue; it is a question of the nation’s credibility and moral responsibility. Hardeep Puri has admitted that he met Jeffrey Epstein.
