New Delhi: Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam praised his positive conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said he hopes India-Mauritius cooperation will deepen at the AI Impact Summit in India next week.
Ramgoolam spoke about Mauritius’ support to India in strengthening strategic cooperation in several areas. In a post on social media, he said, “Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this good exchange.
Mauritius and India are strongly connected to strengthen strategic cooperation in development, innovation, and new technologies. I look forward to deepening this cooperation at the AI Impact Summit in India next week.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a call from the Prime Minister of Mauritius on Monday, during which the two leaders discussed progress in wide-ranging cooperation between the two countries.
In a post on X, PM Modi welcomed the Prime Minister of Mauritius to India for next week’s AI-Impact Summit. Both leaders also reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the special, historic, and people-centered ties between the two countries.
“Delighted to receive a phone call from my friend, Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam. We reviewed the progress made in the wide-ranging cooperation between India and Mauritius since our memorable meeting in Varanasi last year.” In his post, the Prime Minister said, “We reiterated our commitment to further strengthen the special, historic, and people-centered ties that connect our two countries.
India and Mauritius will continue to work together to achieve the shared goals of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean region. I look forward to welcoming him to India next week for the AI Impact Summit.” In September last year, India provided Mauritius with a major special economic package of over US$680 million and signed seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in various sectors during Mauritian Prime Minister Ramgoolam’s visit to India.
The two leaders also held extensive discussions on bilateral, regional, and global issues, including cooperation in science and technology, oceanography, public administration, energy, small development projects, hydrology, and space.
