Ahmedabad: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah enjoyed kite flying with his family and the people of Naranpura area here on Wednesday on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
Amit Shah visited the house of a party worker in his constituency, where Uttarayan was celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and joy. Makar Sankranti is also called ‘Uttarayan’ in Gujarat. It is worth noting that every year Amit Shah celebrates Makar Sankranti with his party workers in his constituency. He continued this tradition today as well. The party workers showed great enthusiasm and excitement while flying kites with Amit Shah. The entire atmosphere was filled with the colors of Uttarayan.
Amit Shah cut three kites while flying them, which created an atmosphere of joy and applause among the party workers and leaders present. On this occasion, Amit Shah also interacted with the workers and encouraged them to continue working for the organization. He extended his best wishes to everyone on the occasion of the festival.
City BJP leaders and office bearers were also present on this occasion. Earlier, Amit Shah visited the Lord Jagannath temple in Jamalpur, Ahmedabad with his family and also performed puja of the cow. Shah, along with his wife Sonalben and son Jay Shah, also fed a cow at the temple as part of the Makar Sankranti rituals.
Later, he reached Naranpura with his family, which falls under the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. It is noteworthy that Amit Shah has been on a visit to Gujarat since yesterday, January 13th.
It is also worth mentioning that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had laid the foundation stone of the BSL-4 Bio-Containment Facility at the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center in Gandhinagar on Tuesday. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also present on this occasion. Addressing the gathering at the event, Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Today, on the soil of Gujarat, we are ushering in a new era of development in the fields of health security, biosafety, and biotechnology in India. The foundation stone has been laid for the BSL-4 bio-containment facility at the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre.” Shah further added that this is India’s second high-level laboratory after the National Institute of Virology in Pune. However, it is the first such laboratory established by a state government.
