New Delhi: On the eve of the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a Deepotsav (Festival of Lights). A grand program was held at the party’s central office.
Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with former President and former Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, were prominently present at the event. Several senior party officials, leaders, and a large number of party workers also participated in the Deepotsav, paying tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Contribution to Nation Building Remembered
Through the lighting of lamps, Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s life, his visionary leadership, and his contributions to nation-building were remembered. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on December 25, 1924, and this year marks his birth centenary. In this context, the BJP is organizing programs at various levels across the country under the “Atal Smriti Varsh” (Atal Memorial Year), which include Deepotsavs, memorial meetings, and tribute events.
Large Number of Party Workers Participated
The party stated that this program is being conducted to convey the ideals of the former Prime Minister โ good governance, national unity, and development โ โโto the new generation. A large number of party workers, especially members of the party’s youth wing, participated in the program.
Various Programs Organized Across the Country
The BJP also celebrates Vajpayee’s birth anniversary as Good Governance Day, and various programs were organized across the country on December 25th. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will first pay tribute to Vajpayee at his memorial, “Sadaiv Atal,” in the morning. Programs and service activities, such as blood donation drives, will also be organized in all 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi and across the country.
