New Delhi: A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of seven accused in the Red Fort blast case till January 8. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna ordered the extension of judicial custody for all seven accused. The accused whose judicial custody was extended include Dr. Adil Ahmed, Dr. Shaheen Saeeda, Dr. Muzammil, Amir Rashid Ali, Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, Shoaib, and Mufti Irfan Ali.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has so far arrested nine accused in this case. All the accused are currently in custody. The NIA is interrogating all the accused to uncover the entire conspiracy. On November 18, the Patiala House Court sent Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, an accused and associate of the suicide bomber Dr. Umar Nabi in the Red Fort blast case, to ten days of NIA custody. The NIA had arrested Danish from Srinagar.
According to the NIA, Danish made technical modifications to a drone and attempted to prepare rockets before the car bomb blast. The NIA claims that Danish played a key role in executing the entire conspiracy along with Umar Nabi. According to the NIA, Umar brainwashed Danish, a political science graduate, to become a suicide bomber. He agreed to meet the doctor module at a mosque in Kulgam in October 2024, from where he was taken to Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana.
It may be recalled that a car bomb blast occurred near the Red Fort on November 10. The car was registered in the name of Amir Rashid Ali. The blast killed 13 people and injured 32 others.
