Strict security arrangements were in place throughout the area since morning in view of the Prime Minister’s program.

Prime Minister Modi arrived at the special river cruise around 8:45 AM on Sunday morning. Amidst the serene environment of the Brahmaputra River, he spent time with the children until approximately 9:40 AM, a duration of about 55 minutes. This interaction was not merely a formal discussion, but a unique attempt to alleviate the students’ fear of exams and instill confidence in them. Students from all corners of Assam:
A total of 25 meritorious students from various districts of Assam got the opportunity to participate in this special program. These students came from districts such as Kamrup Metropolitan, Morigaon, Dibrugarh, Cachar, Sivasagar, Baksa, Dima Hasao, Kokrajhar, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong, and Nalbari. Tribute paid to martyrs:
After completing the discussion with the children on the river cruise, Prime Minister Modi reached the ‘Martyrs’ Memorial Area’ in Boragaon, Guwahati. The atmosphere there was very emotional. The Prime Minister paid heartfelt tributes to Khargeshwar Talukdar, the first martyr of the Assam movement, and the 855 other martyrs who sacrificed their lives alongside him. He remembered and paid homage to the sacrifices of these martyrs who laid down their lives for the identity of Assam. A major step towards Assam’s progress:
After paying homage to the martyrs, the Prime Minister left for Namrup in Dibrugarh district. There, he laid the foundation stone for a historic project for the agricultural sector of Assam and the country. The Prime Minister performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the new ammonia-urea plant, which will be built at a cost of approximately Rs. 10,600 crore. Why this project is special:
This project is nothing short of a boon for Northeast India. The main objective of constructing this new plant is to reduce India’s dependence on importing fertilizers from abroad. Additionally, this plant will play a significant role in meeting the nitrogen fertilizer needs of the northeastern states, directly benefiting the farmers of the region and creating new employment opportunities.
