New Delhi: Air India has warned passengers about potential disruptions to flight operations in the coming days due to dense fog, particularly at airports in Delhi and several other locations across North and East India.
The airline said that low visibility could lead to delays or cancellations, impacting its entire network. In an advisory issued on Wednesday via the X platform, Air India urged passengers, especially during the ongoing holiday season, to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
Passengers are advised to stay updated through the airline’s official website for better travel planning. The airline stated that it has taken several measures to mitigate the impact of fog-related disruptions, including enhanced operational planning and improved coordination on the ground.

However, it also acknowledged that if the dense fog intensifies, sudden cancellations or significant delays could occur. Air India assured passengers that its ground staff will be available 24/7 at airports to provide assistance and make alternative travel arrangements wherever possible.
The airline also highlighted its ‘FogCare’ initiative, under which passengers booked on flights affected by fog will receive advance alerts on their registered mobile numbers. Air India said that under the ‘FogCare’ facility, eligible passengers will have the option to reschedule their flights without any extra charges or receive a full refund without penalty.
The airline appealed to passengers for their patience and cooperation and reiterated that the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew remain its utmost priority while dealing with weather-related operational challenges.
