Further strengthening health services in Udham Singh Nagar district, the state government has upgraded the Shakti Farm Primary Health Center (PHC) to a Community Health Center (CHC). A government order in this regard has been issued at the administrative level. Along with this, a total of 35 posts, including specialist doctors, medical officers, and paramedical and administrative staff, have been created for the operation of the Community Health Center, in accordance with IPHS standards. The upgradation of Shakti Farm PHC to a CHC will provide better treatment to the general public at the local level.
Officials of the Medical Health and Family Welfare Department informed the media in a statement that the state government is concerned about the health of the state’s population. The government is continuously working towards strengthening and expanding the state’s health services. In this regard, the government has upgraded the Shakti Farm Primary Health Center (Type-A) in Udham Singh Nagar district to a 30-bed Community Health Center. Government orders in this regard have also been issued at the administrative level. Health Minister Dr. Rawat said that a total of 32 posts have been created for the deployment of specialist doctors, doctors, nursing staff, pharmacists, lab technicians, and other medical staff in the 30-bed Community Health Center, in accordance with IPHS standards. This includes 20 regular and 12 outsourced positions. The newly created posts include one each for Medical Superintendent, Public Health Specialist, General Surgeon, Physician, Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Anesthetist, and Dental Surgeon, while the one post of Medical Officer previously created in the PHC has been adjusted in the CHC. In addition, 8 posts in the paramedical cadre, 3 in the administrative cadre, and 12 outsourced positions have been created. Dr. Rawat said that departmental officials have been instructed to provide the necessary medical equipment and complete the infrastructural works in the upgraded medical unit within the stipulated time, in accordance with IPHS standards. Dr. Rawat stated that the upgrading of the hospital in Shaktifarm will provide better healthcare facilities to the local people and will also relieve them from the burden of expensive treatment at private hospitals.
