Learn why earthquakes occur.
The Earth’s outer surface, which includes the crust and upper mantle, is made up of small and large tectonic plates. These plates are not static. They are constantly moving. When these plates slide over each other or rub against each other, the energy pressure increases, resulting in earthquakes.
