Bhagalpur: A gang posing as the personal assistant of Union Home Minister Amit Shah was busted with the cooperation of the Bhagalpur MP and the Rangra police station. In connection with these fraudulent calls, the Rangra police arrested two accused who were demanding money from people by calling them, claiming to be the Home Minister’s personal assistant.
Fake Amit Shah’s fake PA fraud: Two criminals from an interstate gang have been arrested. This action was taken after Bhagalpur MP Ajay Kumar Mandal informed the Rangra police station on November 15, 2025, that someone was calling his mobile phone from an unknown number, posing as the personal assistant of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Government of India, and demanding money. Police solved the case: Taking the matter seriously, an FIR was registered at the Rangra police station and an investigation was initiated. Recognizing this fraud attempt as a challenge, the Superintendent of Police, Navgachhia, formed a special team, which took prompt action and solved the case.
Two Accused Arrested from Uttar Pradesh: The police team arrested two criminals from Uttar Pradesh in the Rangara police station area. They are Raj Kumar Pandey, son of Jagdamba Prasad Pandey, resident of Jivdharpur, Ahirauli police station, Ambedkar Nagar district (Uttar Pradesh), and Ravi Pandey, son of Jagdamba Prasad Pandey, resident of Jivdharpur, Ahirauli police station, Ambedkar Nagar district (Uttar Pradesh). Interrogation of the Accused: During interrogation, both arrested criminals admitted that they were attempting to defraud the Honorable Member of Parliament by posing as the Union Home Minister’s personal assistant. A mobile phone has been recovered from them, which is being technically examined. The criminal history of both accused is also being investigated.
