New Delhi: A massive explosion occurred near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening. Nine people were killed and around 20 injured. According to reports, the blast in a car caused panic in the area and set several vehicles on fire. Following the accident, all investigative agencies arrived at the scene and began investigating.
Meanwhile, a high-level meeting is underway at Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence. Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, and NIA Director Sadanand Vasant Date are attending the meeting. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat joined the meeting online. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed grief over the incident. He said, “I express my heartfelt condolences to all those who lost their lives in the tragic incident that took place in Delhi yesterday, Monday.” I pray to God to grant strength and solace to the bereaved families in this hour of profound grief. I want to assure my countrymen that the country’s premier investigative agencies are conducting a prompt and thorough investigation into this incident. The investigation report will be made public soon. I firmly assure my countrymen that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice and will not be spared under any circumstances.
Earlier, Amit Shah visited LNJP Hospital to inquire about the well-being of the injured and assess the situation. Regarding the Delhi blast incident, officials said that a car approached the Red Fort Metro station at a slow speed and exploded with a loud bang. As soon as the blast was reported, Amit Shah sought complete information from Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and the NIA Director. He directed that no negligence be committed in the investigation.
