New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Bhutan, starting Tuesday. According to the latest information, PM Modi arrived in the capital, Thimphu, a short while ago, where he was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay.
PM Modi will attend the 70th birthday celebrations of Bhutan’s fourth King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck. During this, he will meet with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, his father and predecessor, the fourth King, and Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. Upon arriving in Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan, PM Modi made a major statement regarding the Delhi blasts. He said that the conspirators behind the blasts will not be spared and that all those responsible will be brought to justice. He said that he was in contact with agencies throughout the night, gathering every information. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the victims. All agencies will get to the bottom of the conspiracy and bring the culprits to justice. He said that he understands the suffering of the victims. “I come here today with a very sad heart. The horrific incident that occurred in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them today. I was in touch with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout last night. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind it will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice.” Before embarking on his Bhutan visit, the Prime Minister said, “I am confident that my visit will further strengthen the bonds of our friendship and strengthen our efforts towards shared progress and prosperity.” He added that it will be an honor to join the people of Bhutan in celebrating the 70th birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth King. Modi said that the display of the sacred Piprahwa relics of Lord Buddha from India during the Global Peace Prayer Festival in Bhutan reflects the deep civilizational and spiritual ties between our two countries. He further stated that this visit, along with the inauguration of the Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project, will mark another major milestone in our successful energy partnership. He stated that India and Bhutan share exemplary relations of friendship and cooperation, based on deep mutual trust, understanding, and goodwill. The PM said that our partnership is a key pillar of our Neighborhood First policy and a model of exemplary friendly relations between neighboring countries.
Sharing a post on social media, the PM wrote, “I am leaving for Bhutan, where I will participate in various programs. This visit coincides with Bhutan celebrating the 70th birthday of His Majesty the Fourth King. During this visit, I will hold talks with His Majesty the King of Bhutan, the Fourth King, and Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay.” Modi said the Punatsangchhu-II hydroelectric project will be inaugurated to boost energy partnership between the two countries. He said the visit will inject new energy into bilateral relations.
