Meanwhile, the Srinagar-Leh highway was temporarily closed to traffic after heavy snowfall in Zojila.
This is the heaviest snowfall of the season, signaling the arrival of winter in the Kashmir Valley. Renowned for its snow-capped peaks and panoramic views, Gulmarg is a popular destination for winter activities like skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. The arrival of winter is expected to increase tourist footfall in the region. Gulmarg’s natural beauty, with its rolling hills and snow-capped mountains, is a treat to the eyes. According to the Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) of Jammu and Kashmir, the minimum temperature in Gulmarg was recorded at -2 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature at 10 degrees Celsius. The sky is expected to be generally cloudy with light rain. On November 6th and 7th, the sky will be clear, with a maximum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 0 degrees Celsius. Following this, on November 8th and 10th, the maximum temperature in the region is expected to be 12 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 1 degree Celsius, with mostly clear skies.
