Dehradun: The weather in Uttarakhand is changing once again. Snowfall is occurring in the hilly areas of the state. Badrinath has also received its first snowfall of the season. The hills have shone like silver after the snowfall.
The faces of devotees arriving at Badrinath are also beaming with joy. They are enjoying the snowfall as well as the arrival of the shrine. The doors of Badrinath shrine are scheduled to close on November 25th. A large number of devotees are still arriving at the shrine. Following the snowfall in Badrinath shrine, temperatures are dropping below freezing in the morning and evening. Along with Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib and the Valley of Flowers are also covered in snow. The snowfall in the hilly areas has also increased the cold in the lower areas. People can be seen taking shelter by bonfires in the morning and evening to protect themselves from the cold.
Kedarnath shrine has also experienced snowfall. Following the snowfall, Kedarnath shrine has been covered in a white blanket of snow. The doors of Kedarnath shrine have been closed. Currently, Kedarnath shrine remains deserted.
Tourism businesses are delighted with the snowfall in the hilly areas. They expect a large influx of tourists. The snowfall could also boost Uttarakhand’s winter Chardham Yatra.
Earlier, the Dehradun Meteorological Center had predicted rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand. Scientist Rohit Thapliyal stated that a western disturbance on November 5th could impact Uttarakhand’s weather. The Meteorological Department stated that the weather in Uttarakhand will remain dry after November 6th.
