‘RSS should be banned,’ demands Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge
New Delhi: Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has once again demanded a ban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the RSS are responsible for the current law and order situation in India, and that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi truly respects the views of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he should take the decision to ban the RSS.
Kharge said, “These are my personal views, and I openly say that the RSS should be banned. If the Prime Minister respects the views of Vallabhbhai Patel, then it should be so. All the evils and law and order problems in the country are the result of the BJP and the RSS.”
Kharge said that he (Sardar Patel) and Iron Lady Indira Gandhi made every possible effort to maintain the unity of the country. He recalled Sardar Patel’s letter to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, in which he stated that there was no option but to ban the RSS after Gandhiji’s death.
RSS Distributed Sweets
He emphasized that the RSS had distributed sweets after Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination. Kharge said, “Patel wrote a letter stating that there was no option but to ban the RSS after the way they celebrated Gandhiji’s assassination. He wrote this letter to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee…The speeches of RSS members are filled with venom. They distributed sweets after Gandhiji’s assassination. He also wrote this letter to Golwalkar.”
Request to Ban RSS Activities
Earlier, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, son of the Congress President, had urged the state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to ban RSS activities in government schools, colleges, and temples. He accused the organization of brainwashing youth and promoting ideas that are anti-constitutional.
Tribute to Indira Gandhi
Meanwhile, the Congress President paid tribute to the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on Friday. Millions of Indians will always be inspired by the life of the “Iron Lady,” Mrs. Indira Gandhi. He wrote on X, “Indira Gandhi was a symbol of resilience, courage, and visionary leadership. Her unwavering commitment to India’s progress and unity remains etched in our hearts and minds. She sacrificed her life in the service of the nation, protecting its integrity and spirit. Our humble tributes at the Shakti Sthal.”
It is noteworthy that Indira Gandhi was India’s third and first woman Prime Minister, serving in this position from 1966 to 1977 and again from 1980 to 1984.
