Lucknow: The Special Cell of UP ATS and Delhi Police have arrested two suspected terrorists associated with ISIS, foiling a major terror threat. Both the accused were planning to carry out a suicide attack in crowded areas of Delhi. The arrested accused are Adnan Khan alias Abu Muharrib (20) and Mohammad Adnan Khan (19). Both of them were radical campaigning through social media. These two have become radical after seeing ISIS videos. This information was given by UP IG LR Kumar while talking to the media on Monday.
Had planned to carry out the blast on Diwali: UP IG LR Kumar said that Adnan Khan (Bhopal resident) was arrested on October 18 from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. While Mohammad Adnan was arrested on October 16 from Sadiq Nagar, Sector 3 in Delhi. The two were associated with a foreign handler operating on the ISIS Syria-Turkish border and considered him ‘rich’. The defendants had trained in a suicide attack after watching videos related to ISIS online, influenced by ideology. The two were planning to target a mall and a public park in south Delhi, where a huge crowd was going to gather on the occasion of Diwali
IED-making materials recovered: L R Kumar said, electronic components, timer clock, ISIS flag, laptop, pen drive and propaganda material for making IED have been recovered from both of them. He had also recorded a video of taking the oath of allegiance. The two had tried to recruit by creating a group on social media and had a plan to carry out a ‘fidayeen’ (suicide) attack by attacking on Diwali.

Even after being released on bail, he continued to indulge in radical activities. At the same time, Adnan Khan from Delhi is originally a resident of Etah (Uttar Pradesh). His father Salim Khan is a driver in Doordarshan and came to Delhi with his family in 2023. He currently lives in Sadiq Nagar.
